Annabel Koele (1996) is a Dutch performer and creator working at the intersection of dance, mime, and physical theatre. Her work emerges from the body’s relationship to space, sound, and perception, with a focus on transformation, states of being, and the surreal within the everyday. Annabel creates physical performances from a personal — and inherently female — perspective, involving themes which mirror the shifting dynamics of our time.

In her upcoming research period, she focuses on spatial and sensorial observations of her body in the city of Zagreb (Kroatia). This is part of an ongoing research into themes of womanhood, explored in a way that remains open to interpretation and does not impose a fixed point of view.
