gergő d. farkas is a collection of cells passionate about choreography, dance, romance, and mischief. Lost in Vienna, Budapest, Stockholm, or somewhere in between, she dreams of belonging to sensual spaces where not only people are invited to dance. By combining somatic practices and world-making, gergő aims to intertwine the fantastic with the material in search of a body that feels more and loves harder.

Their choreographic work has been presented at venues and festivals such as Zürcher Theater Spektakel (CH), Spring Forward Festival (GR, IT), Imagetanz (AT), TQW's RAKETE (AT), Trafó House of Contemporary Arts (HU), under500 Festival (HU), Dansehallerne (DK), MDT Moderna Dansteatern (SE), Réplika Teatro (SE), Open House Festival (CY), MDT Legacy Festival (NL), and Dansmakers Amsterdam (NL), and others. Their first work, Deep Fake, was part of Aerowaves Twenty22 as well as the DunaPart 2023 selection, and was nominated for the ZKB Acknowledgement Prize (CH), while their second work, babes, was selected for Aerowaves Twenty25 and nominated for the Rudolf Lábán Award (HU).

During these open studio sessions, participants are invited to warm up and mess around together within gergő's artistic practice. Together, we will cultivate strange organs within the body, allow ourselves to be possessed by goblins, and try to use the felt sense of the body to create worlds.

Named after Gore-Tex, the famous waterproof fabric membrane that has kept nature and culture separate since 1969. To this day, gergő d. farkas proudly present Ogre-Tex, a series of fantasies tailored to articulate a membrane between the subject and its environment, which is murky and permeable, allowing for a constant shift between the parts it seemingly separates. From the perspective of duality, Ogre-Tex is completely useless, which probably makes it a bit dangerous and queer.

In this short presentation of a work-in-progress, gergő will try and fail, try and fail, and try to find new ways of world-making by intertwining fantasies and the felt knowledge of the body. Obsessed with the anatomies of fairy-tale beings, they will seek ways to cultivate a body that feels more, loves more deeply, and stays in touch with the world in a little dirty and mischievous ways.
