Ana Kljujev
Capacity Grid 2025
Ana Kljujev is currently a third-year student in the Bachelor’s program in Contemporary Dance at the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb. She started dancing at the age of 5 in the Modus Dance Club. At the age of 12, she enrolled in the Secondary Dance School at the Franjo Lučić Art School, graduating in 2020. Throughout her training, she actively participated in numerous workshops led by both domestic and international choreographers and dancers.
Her main interests lie in the exploration of gaze, dramaturgy, improvisational form, artistic collaboration, choreography, and the performer-audience relationship, particularly in one-to-one formats. She is fascinated by the way space is created for both the performer and the spectator in these intimate settings, where a unique impression of space can be formed.
At present, while developing her bachelor’s thesis, she is exploring the concept of ‘view’ – what it means to watch or be watched, whether in person or through various perspectives. For instance, by investigating the role of mirrors, both for the performer and the audience, while engaging with Michel Foucault’s concept of heterotopia.
Ana is participating in the danceWEB scholarship 2025, nominated by network partner divert.
