Kim Walz

Capacity Grid 2026

Kim Walz works across choreography, performance, sound, sculpture and dramaturgy. Their practice explores complexity and ambivalence in perception, bodily and spatial relations, and societal structures. Working with loud soundscapes, architecture, hyperslow movement, the skeletal system and the modulation of time, Walz experiments with fragmenting and reformulating associations between body, sound and space. Reduction becomes a tool for complexification, questioning how multiple perceptions and dramaturgies can coexist without being resolved into a single perspective.

Coming from a non-academic background, Walz entered the dance and theatre field through autodidactic paths, working across artistic and production contexts. In 2023/24, they completed the Dance Intensive at Tanzfabrik Berlin and were a danceWEB scholarship recipient at ImPulsTanz Vienna in 2025. They are currently studying in the MA exerce at ICI—CCN Montpellier.

In October 2026, Kim Walz visits Improspekcije Festival in Zagreb in the frame of Capacity Grid.

AfterWorld Infrastructural Imaginations and Imaginary Infrastructures

Improspekcije 2026

Let us call this moment of transition — from a roughly four-hundred-year-old rationalist epoch toward an unknown age — AfterWorld. Instead of catastrophe, the end perhaps opens up the possibility for us, as cultural workers, to shape artifacts that carry different values into the new epoch, introducing something unknown or magical into a plastic reality shaped by language. Magic as a network of relations, in place of the imperative of linear progression of economic-technological progress; as gestures of listening that precede any agreement; a ceding of space without knowing what will actually emerge. At a moment when what is recognizable to us is rapidly disappearing, we propose AfterWorld as a speculative, transportable object, or a bridge toward another world. Resisting canonization, it is an artifact that strives so that something — perhaps entirely unlike itself — might continue after it.

Interdisciplinary program of workshops, performances and discursive events, hosting Jakob Wittkowsky, Catalina Insignares, Maria F. Scaroni, Maria Silk, Eva Priečková, Zuzana Žabková, Kim Walz, Ana Dević, Lada Furlan Zaborec, Blackdot and others.
