Lydia Touliatou
Capacity Grid 2026
Lydia Touliatou is a Helsinki-based choreographer and researcher. Her movement practice emerges from the dialogue between her training in classical Indian dance, Bharatanatyam, and Western dance techniques (BA in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban). The core of her experimentation consists of creating novel movement vocabularies with the narrative tools of abhinaya (facial expressions) and mudras (hand gestures) found in Bharatanatyam. Upon receiving her MA in Choreography from the Theatre Academy in Helsinki (2023), Lydia joined Terra-Performing research group (Research Council of Finland) as an assistant researcher, where in March 2025, she co-authored the article: Heat Work: Choreography as an Ecological Enquiry of Machine Learning and Extractivism. Her most recent choreographic work is ATROPOS (2025), presented at Zodiak Centre for New Dance in Helsinki.

Tour Through Tanztage
Tour Through Tanztage is a peer to peer event which takes place during Tanztage Berlin. In the frame of our programme Capacity Grid, two of our partners send artists to Berlin, together with local artists they get the chance to browse through the festival. In 2026, Moving in November sends Lydia Touliatou.
