Manuela Deac

Manuela Deac is an independent Romanian artist based in Vienna, who works in the fields of dance, performance, and film. Her current artistic practice investigates the state of presence through risk, ritual, and play. She has worked with Christine Gaigg, performing with her at the ImPulsTanz Festival, Funkhaus Wien, and the Odeon Theater, and Doris Uhlich, among others. For many years, she co-created site-specific performances with Kollektiv KLAUS. In film, she has performed in works by Harald Hund and Norbert Pfaffenbichler, playing the leading role in 2551.03 – The End, the third part of his dystopian film trilogy. Her teaching engagements include the ImPulsTanz Festival, Dschungel Wien, and the Central European University.
