danceWEB 2027 takes place from 7 July to 11 August 2027 in the frame of ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival under the artistic mentorship of choreographer, performer and visual artist Maria Hassabi in dialogue with dancer and choreographer Adam Linder.

Applications are possible as of now through the online tool.

Application deadline: 4 December 2026, 12:00 PM (CET) 

The applicants will be informed about an acceptance or rejection by the end of January 2027. To confirm your participation in the danceWEB programme, the co-financing of 2,900 euro has to be guaranteed by a funding body or through sponsorship generated by the danceWEB participant by 15 June 2027. The programme does not include travel, per diem, visa and insurance expenses. These expenses need to be covered by the participants themselves. Participants must be of legal age.

After receiving the written confirmation of participation by the applicant, we will send you an official invitation letter to the programme. This letter is intended to support applications for travel subsidies, grants or other types of financial support. The danceWEB coordinator will be happy to advise you on possible funding opportunities, if this appears helpful.

With the applicant’s written confirmation of participation we reserve your place in the programme; this is binding and obliges you to pay the co-financing contribution. The final confirmation of the participation will be given upon receipt of the co-financing confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that you can cancel your participation until 16 June 2027. In this case, a cancellation fee of 50 euro will be retained (or requested) and we will refund the remaining amount that has already been paid (if applicable). For cancellations after 16 June 2027 there will be no more reimbursement, but 2,850 euro (2,900 euro minus cancellation fee) can be redeemed within ImPulsTanz workshop and research programme 2027, 2028 or 2029. A participation in danceWEB is only possible if the co-financing contribution is paid prior to the start of the programme.

The danceWEB International Scholarship Programme is an activity of the danceWEB association.
 

WHO can apply?

Dancers and choreographers and interpreters with decidedly professional ambitions from European and non European countries, preferably between 22 and 30 years of age (no rule, but a guideline!) and a good knowledge of English. The working language of the programme is English!
Applications are only accepted from individual artists and no duos/groups.

Where can I get an idea of the programme, what it will be like, to measure whether this programme contributes to my further development / is a perfect contribution to my momentarily situation?

You can find all the important information on our website www.lifelongburning.eu. In the section danceWEB Participants you will find a list with all former danceWEBers who have written a report about their experience during the programme. These reports can give you an inside perspective of how the programme will be like, how they experienced it, how they felt about it.

How do I apply?

We do only accept applications through our online application tool. The application tool is open as of 20 October 2026 until 4 December 2026, noon, Central European Time!

The application tool is open as of 20 October until 4 December 2026, noon, Central European Time!
We recommend not to wait until the last 24 hours to submit the application in order to avoid technical problems due to server overstrain.
You are informed about the results of the selection process by the end of January 2027 via email.

What does the application consist of?

Applications can be submitted via an online tool as of 20 October 2026. The link to the tool will appear that day at noon. 

For the application we need the following information (in English): personal data, a CV, a letter of motivation, letter(s) of recommendation (optional), one portrait photo (inclusive its credits) and links to videos of past artistic works. The recommendation letter is optional.
 

What do you expect from my letter of motivation?

What do you think you could experience / get from participating in danceWEB? Why are you interested in working with the mentors Maria Hassabi and Adam Linder?
Please describe yourself, your artistic way of working; what does distinguish you as an artist; what are you currently interested in/working on, what drives you? Where are you currently standing in your artistic career, in which direction do you want to go? Or did you already arrive? Or do you never wanna arrive?
These are only guidelines; you can arrange your letter of motivation in whatever way you consider it suitable for presenting yourself. 

Who can write a recommendation letter?

Recommendation letters can be written by choreographers or other dance artists you have worked with, teachers or professors who have accompanied you for a certain period or who have experienced you in your way of working. The more these people are familiar with the danceWEB programme, the better they can measure what will be coming up to you, with what you will be confronted. The recommendation letters have to be in English and can be addressed to the Artistic Committee of danceWEB 2027. Normally a recommendation letter covers no more than one page. They don’t have to be originally signed.

How is my participation financed?

Since its foundation in 1996, the danceWEB programme has been an example of an internationally co-financed programme which would not have been possible without the support of institutions and funding partners in the participants' countries from the very beginning. The majority of the costs is covered by the danceWEB Association and its funding partners. If invited to participate in the danceWEB programme, the participants still need to find a financial contribution (a co-financing sum of EUR 2.900,-) to their total programme expenses from national/regional funding institutions in their home country of origin/country of residence or through own funds in order to secure their participation.

How does it work with securing the co-financing to my total programme expenses?

In case you get selected for danceWEB 2027, you still need to raise a co-financing sum of EUR 2.900.- to your total programme expenses through local funding bodies in your home country of origin/country of residence in order to secure your participation. danceWEB will be happy to advise you on possible funding opportunities, if this appears helpful. You don't need to have secured the funding already for the application.
A participation does not include travel, visa, insurance and per diem expenses. It is recommended to find financial support for these expenses as well in case you get selected for the programme.

How many photos can I attach and what kind of photos should they be?

In order to give everyone the same conditions in the application process you can attach one photo.

In which format and size shall I attach the photo?

Please attach it as a JPG file, ideally in format 16:9. Attachments shall not exceed 4MB file size. Please do not send photos in a word document.

What do I do when I can‘t attach the required documents?

If you have problems with attaching your documents please have a look at the questions above and check whether you have used the required size and formats. Or try a different browser. If it still doesn‘t work please contact us via email.

What do I do when I can’t send my application due to technical reasons?

Don‘t panic and send us an email explaining your problem as clear as possible. We will try to solve it and get back to you as soon as possible.
