30 years of danceWEB

danceWEB Scholarship Programme

The danceWEB International Scholarship Programme celebrates its 30th anniversary! The perfect time to look back on the history of a programme which, every summer, gives young artists – 1,700 from 95 countries so far – the opportunity to make the absolute most of what ImPulsTanz offers: workshops, performances, and above all: the chance to meet one another, to live and dance together. The support through the EU funding programme Creative Europe has played a major role in its singular international renown. That the scholarship has stood at the start of countless magnificent careers in dance is perfectly embodied by our panel guests, a. o. Trajal Harrell (danceWEB mentor 2008), Philipp Gehmacher (among the very first danceWEB participants in 1996, danceWEB mentor 2009) and Katerina Andreou (danceWEB 2015, Prix Jardin d’Europe 2016). danceWEB is funded by the European Union’s cultural funding programmes since 1997.
