Sara Lanner works as a coordinator for the danceWEB Scholarship Programme in Vienna. Her main task is the communication and coordination with different departments of ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival and the danceWEB participants. She is preparing the participants' stay in Vienna, coordinating their workshop and performance bookings and planning their programme in accordance with the mentors. Furthermore, some participants need assistance in finalising their travel, visa and financing situation. The challenges are to keep an overview on all participants from an organisational and bureaucratic point of view and at the same time being aware of the different artistic, personal and cultural backgrounds which make the communication with each participant special – or challenging sometimes. During their five weeks stay in Vienna there are several events Sara organises, such as the danceWEB Reception for which also sponsors and political representatives are invited. Towards the end of the programme there is an extensive feedback talk which Sara documents to assure that new knowledge will be kept and applied structurally in each following year.

Other than that Sara Lanner is a choreographer and visual artist based in Vienna. In her works, she negotiates questions of cultural and (bodily) linguistic identity and explores spaces between trust and dependency. The ambivalences of interpersonal relationships and their points of contact as well as our material and ecological realities form the beginning of her artistic reflections. Her performances take place in exhibition spaces, on stages and in interdisciplinary and public places. Most recently, her dance performance Mining Minds (2021) was shown at brut Wien and ImPulsTanz festival. For her performance MINE (2021), Sara Lanner was awarded the H13 Niederösterreich Prize for Performance, and for her piece Mother Tongue (2019) at Leopold Museum in Vienna, she received the audience award of the 2020 Ö1-Talentebörse.
