Lokomotiva and Nomad Dance Academy

Founded in 2003 in Skopje, Lokomotiva has been a platform dedicated to education, reflection, production and research in contemporary arts and culture. The organization continually works on knowledge production, cultural and labour rights, and the improvement of working conditions for artists and cultural workers, with a primary focus on contemporary (performing) arts. Lokomotiva understands culture as an extended field interrelated with society, and art as a (post)disciplinary field that broadens forms of expression, production, and dissemination. In recent years, Lokomotiva has increasingly focused on the inclusion of marginalised voices, with an emphasis on feminist approaches and ecology, rooted in developing forms of equity in collaboration and work.
