Open Call – MDT is looking for a Stockholm based dance artist

Capacity Grid Festival Visit

MDT Moderna Dansteatern launches an open call for one dance artist to visit the festival Moving In November, in Helsinki, Finland, within the frame of our programme Capacity Grid. The visit consists of studio time, mentoring, as well as the possibility to experience the whole festival programme including all its discursive events.

This open call ends on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 23:59.


What’s the offer?
In collaboration with Moving in November (MiN), MDT invites one dance artist to participate in the entire festival programme, between 5–15 November 2026, including the discursive events and workshops. A studio residency and conversation/mentoring/feedback session with MiN’s artistic director is also included.

More specifically, the offer covers costs for travel, accommodation, per diems, a fee of 1000 €, five days in a studio and tickets for the festival performances.

Who can apply?
Professional dance artists based in Stockholm. In particular, we recommend the application to artists interested in working and exchanging in an international context, curious about learning from different practices as well as sharing their own.

How to apply?
Respond to this open call by sending a proposal (letter, video, audio description) of your practice and why you are interested in the call. Texts should be in English, max 800 words. Audio/video files should be max 2 minutes long.

About MDT Moderna Dansteatern
MDT is a co-production platform and one of Sweden’s leading venues for contemporary choreography and performance. They are situated in a reconstructed torpedo workshop on the island of Skeppsholmen in Stockholm and the facilities include one main stage and two studios. MDT co-produces, hosts and presents both international and Sweden based dance artists with the aim of providing space for both artists and audiences to develop, discuss and experiment within contemporary dance and choreographic practice.
