(non)conference: “(Eco)Feminism in Practice(s): Rethinking Arts and Curatorial Futures”
At the (non)conference we are inviting international and Macedonian curators and artists to share their curatorial and artistic strategies, tactics, and modes of work related to ecopolitics, feminism and socially engaged practices based on solidarity and equity. Their practices and collaborative work will be organized as presentations, workshops and discussions among themselves, local professionals, students, and the general audience.
The (non)conference idea is to explore the (non-)conference format, as a public and semi-public, allow participants to present their recent work modes, and think together towards ecopolitics, ecofeminism, feminism and how they affect curatorial and organisational, or governing practices in the arts.

Curating in Context in Struga, North Macedonia
Performance Situation Room 2024
The International Summer School Curating in Context returns for its fourth edition, offering a unique platform for rethinking curatorial practices in contemporary art and beyond. Organized by Lokomotiva and curated by Biljana Tanurovska-Kjulavkovski, this year’s programme is set to take place from 25–31 August 2024 in Struga, North Macedonia.
The school offers a space to rethink curatorial practices beyond the organized disciplines of knowledge where the artistic, socio-political, economic, environmental, and cultural contexts can be reimagined. The school also emphasizes thinking through diverse prisms of intersectionality, feminism, ecology, and ecotopia (ecoutopia) among others, which require different ways of thinking, reflection, and approaches, thus creating diverse practices.
In parallel with the summer school, Lokomotiva will also host the Modular School, organized in cooperation with Nomad Dance Academy Croatia, with which the participants will have exchanges. The Modular School is a programme focused on the field of performing arts and contemporary dance, bringing together 5 participants who will engage in an enriched exchange of ideas and practices with the participants of the summer school.
