This Performance Situation Room assembles two works and artists that address an urgent need to rest. To be patient. Together. No withdrawal into digital or social bubbles, but a sharing of time and space, allowing for sensual pleasure as well as resistance, as in Ewa Dziarnowska’s This resting, patience. Maud Blandel offers insight into the sonic, visual and danced materials of her newest work Same Old Songs at mumok cinema. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Three Guineas (1938), it transforms the anti-war essay, which understands war as a patriarchal issue, into a psychedelic, ultra-energetic hallucination.

ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival takes place in Vienna from 9 July until 9 August 2026. The festival hosts our danceWEB International Scholarship Programme, the [8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series, and this year also a Performance Situation Room: An Event which invites artists and audiences alike to dive into current topics of a certain urgency.

The screening at mumok will be accompanied by a talk with the artists, Maud Blandel and Ewa Dziarnowska.
